Alpaca tops - combed goat wool ribbon without awn.
Producer, Germany and Italy.
Alpaca is a domestic artiodactyl animal, the camelid family, has a soft and long fleece (its length reaches 15-20 cm on the sides)
No other wool in the world compares to alpaca wool. It is valued primarily for its wool, which has all the properties of sheep, but is much lighter in weight.
Alpaca fibers are straighter than sheep's wool, not squeaky and are distinguished by their extraordinary richness and silkiness with a subtle sheen. Alpaca wool is three times stronger and seven times warmer than sheep wool. Living high in the mountains, where the temperature difference between day and night reaches 30 degrees, the alpaca has warmer fur than other animal species. Alpaca wool is very resistant and does not contain grease, so products made from it do not get dirty for a long time. It is practically waterproof and does not cause allergies. Can be used for both dry and wet felting. When wet felting, mix with other wool, merino, cashmere for better grip.
